”Floorball in earnest but not too seriously”
Floorball Club Greasers FBC was established in 1998 by a group of young men from Korso. Since the beginning our core values have been fair play, try hard to the last, and intention to do things a bit better than everybody else. These values, together with talented and active people, have brought our small club a lot of positive publicity.
Greasers’ aims are to offer good circumstances to practice the noble sport of Floorball, and keep close and progressive relationships to our partners and sponsors.
Teams in season 2015-2016
- Greasers FBC (Men III-division)
- Greasers II (Men IV-division)
Greasers and the co-operation club Veddesta Finska IBK (SWE) have been engaged in a player exchange. Jere spent a year in Sweden as a Floorball professional, and Tony still plays in the club.
In addition we have had visitors from Czech Republic, Sweden, UK, Canada and Japan.
Korso is an important home town of Greasers and we felt it needs an own fan product. T-shirt with a Korso sign was accomplished in summer 2003. It has been a huge success since the day one, and is been put on by hundreds of people recognizing the Korso lifestyle. A local newspaper published an article about it and received a lot of publicity. T-shirt is sold at our partner bar’s premises, as well as in our online store.
”Korso is more than a trackside suburb. It’s a lifestyle and an emotion.”
Internet and media
The main communication channel to operate is club’s website at http://www.greasers.net. Greasers played the first international game in autumn 2000, when the type of pioneer team IFK SOS celebrated their 21st anniversary with a game trip to Finland. One of the finest moments in club’s history was a test match against Team Malaysia in Helsinki in 2002.
